Background:

Founded in 1999, KanHan Technologies Limited (KanHan) is an Information Technology solutions provider targeting Hong Kong and China market with primary focus in the government sector. KanHan’s IT solutions aim to facilitate government departments and corporations to communicate with their clients using websites, telephones, mobile phones using voice (e.g. IVR Interactive Voice Response System) and data (e.g. Mobile Apps) channels. Coupled with the in-house developed award winning technologies and the extensive project experience, KanHan has been successful in establishing its market dominance in three areas.

  1. Chinese language related data processing.  Including translation between simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese, legacy Chinese encoding system migration to Unicode industry standard, text to speech and voice recognition for Cantonese and Putonghua. Its flagship patented product HanWEB first introduced in Year 2000 for website translation between the two Chinese writing systems has been adopted by majority of HKSAR government departments and major financial institutions.
  2. Website Accessibility. Since 2003, KanHan has amassed extensive technology know-hows in assisting the underprivileged groups including the visually impaired persons (VIP) and the elderlies in accessing Internet without barriers. Hong Kong Society of the Blind launched the world’s first website in the same year built by KanHan that allows the VIP in listening to the web contents using a standard Internet browser and via telephone for those without any knowledge of using computers. The website was built with KanHan’s branded HanPHONE and HanVOICE products supporting the latest telephony and text to speech technologies supporting Cantonese, Putonghua and English. In 2004, KanHan partnered with Freedom Scientific, supplier of the global leading screen reading software JAWS, to localize the English version supporting Cantonese and Putonghua enabling the blind IT literates using computer.
  3. Unified Communication (UC). KanHan has been providing solution for our client to enhance their communications for over 15 years. HanPHONE is a Unified Communication tool facilitating users to have the most latest and advanced IP Telephony functions and features. Various modules, such as IP-PBX, IVRS, Contact Centre, Voice Recorder, Text-to-Speech, Audio Speech Recognition, Mobile Extension, SMS, Fax-on-demand etc., could be deployed and customized to fit your needs. These bring our solution being deployed to Government Departments and various industry sectors ranging from Banking and Finance, Hospitality, Energy, Logistics etc.
