KanHan explores new era in Putonghua learning with offical launch of E-Putonghua learning platform

(Hong Kong, January 28, 2004) - KanHan Technologies Limited (KanHan) today announced that the Group, through its subsidiary, KanHan Technologies Limited ("the Company"), today officially launched the world's first interactive e-Putonghua learning platform and partnering with ESDlife ("ESDlife") (www.esdlife.com) on January 28, 2004.

Under the arrangements, the Company will work with ESDlife to provide Putonghua (PTH) training to consumers. PTH training, using Web-to-Speech (WTS) technologies as well as online dynamic updated content will provide consumers with an easy and direct way of acquiring PTH language skill. This platform which uses WTS engine and online content can be accessed by consumers using Internet or phone (line or mobile phone) means. As an added bonus, the leading Simplex-Complex Chinese translation software is bundled in the platform. The online content is managed by an experienced Beijing tutor together with the support of the Company's multi-functional value-added services.

Subscribers can access to this online Putonghua training together with their colleagues and friends with a click of the mouse. The training platform covers elementary, intermediate and professional PTH training, which also include pronunciation, daily conversations, difference in PTH and Cantonese phases, as well as guidance for students to take the Putonghua For National Examination Course and Putonghua For Certificate Examination (HKEA).

Subscribers can also access to other online materials for work or personal enjoyment such as information on real-time news articles, speeches, real-time Cantonese-PTH conversions, PTH pronunciations and PTH pinyin conversions.

Using the ESDlife payment platform, this training platform can be accessed by online community. Consumers can subscribe to the training kits via ESDlife's fast and secured Internet payment gateway.
