HanWEB Lands at Macau: Open the door of communication

(Hong Kong, 15 May 2012)

Since the first launch of KanHan Technologies Limited (KanHan) developed solution - HanWEB in 2001, over 250 HKSAR Government departments, financial institutions and multi-national corporations have adopted HanWEB for translating languages among Traditional Chinese (TC) and Simplified Chinese (SC) in websites. This year, HanWEB has successfully launched two projects in the Macao Special Administrative Region and a large entertainment enterprise.

Since the handover in 1999, there is necessity to provide Simplified Chinese language interface in Government's web pages. The Labour Affairs Bureau, a public department of the Macao Special Administrative Region is going to deploy HanWEB translation server in her own website (http://www.dsal.gov.mo/). No modification on website structure and design is needed and simply plug-in HanWEB to have on-the-fly translation of Traditional Chinese to Simplified Chinese. Client can also use administrative console to input customized vocabulary in refining translation automatically.

In addition to government department, Macao Jockey Club has developed a Simplified Chinese interface for individual visitors from China to know more about horse racing in Macau. (http://www.mjc.mo:8080/TuniS/www.mjc.mo/race/info/index.php) Through the HanWEB translation technology, all information can be converted into Simplified Chinese without modification of website design.

The successful deployment of HanWEB in Macau market paves the way for KanHan to expand market outside Hong Kong region. The plug-and-play conversion of Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese can give an easy hand to Macau government and enterprises to establish Simplified Chinese version in website meeting society's need.
