Background
The introduction of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets has immensely changed the way that people perceives information and how they access to a sea of information on the internet. Website is no longer served solely for desktop computers but also crucial to cater for mobile devices nowadays.
Responsive Web Design (RWD) is an approach aimed at crafting sites to provide an optimal viewing experience—easy reading and navigation with a minimum of resizing, panning, and scrolling—across a wide range of devices. The Hong Kong Stoma Association used to have a proprietary website developed with traditional technique to fulfill the requirements of desktop computers. To accommodate the capacity of mobile devices’ users, they have decided to move on to RWD and invited KanHan Technologies Limited (KanHan) to develop its first website using RWD. Content Management System
Like any other websites, content management system (CMS) is an inseparable part of it. The content management system built by KanHan for the Hong Kong Stoma Association’s website is capable of more than just editing, modifying and publishing website contents. The CMS behind this website can be assessed by mobile devices including but not limited to smartphones and tablets. This feature helps users to access the CMS from anywhere and any device which brings true convenience to them.
WCAG Assessment and Rectification
Apart from website development, KanHan has helped carry out Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) assessment and rectification for the revamped website.
